Cantonese cuisine has ancient roots, dating back approximately 2,000 years to the Qin dynasty. The Guangdong region was an important trading port and, as a result, Cantonese cuisine developed with the influence of other cuisines, such as those of Fujian and Jiangsu. Over the centuries, Cantonese cuisine has undergone many influences, including those of the Mongols, Arabs, and Portuguese, and has incorporated ingredients and cooking techniques from foreign cultures.

Cantonese cuisine is renowned for its wide variety of dishes featuring meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, and rice. Our restaurant upholds the tradition of Cantonese cuisine by emphasising the freshness of ingredients, sourcing from the best local suppliers, collaborating with top Cantonese and Hong Kong chefs, and preparing every single product in-house. FEN aims to create a true journey and experience within the captivating world of the East.

The FEN style

Art Nouveau is a style of decorative art and architecture that emerged in the late 19th century and was popular in Europe and North America until around 1910. Art Nouveau also had an influence in other parts of the world, including China, where it was known as “Jiu Yuan Hua,” which translates to “old courtyard paintings.” This style was influenced by both Chinese and Western art and was characterised by the use of flowing lines, organic shapes, and natural motifs. One of the most significant examples of Art Nouveau in China is the Shanghai Art Deco movement, which emerged in the 1920s and 1930s. This movement combined Art Nouveau with elements of traditional Chinese art and culture. Our establishment draws inspiration from this style and those years, reinterpreting the spirit, colours, and decor in a modern key.
